As all my friends say, it is the wrong time for me to start an international literary magazine. They are right, but I have significant reasons to do it now.
My world collapsed this year with the beginning of notorious events. But while I live in Russia, I can’t even write openly about my thoughts and feelings.
From many years of experience as a magazine editor, I know how well such activity serves as an escape from painful reality. Today, however, too many Russian authors write about current events. So, I decided to start a literary magazine in English that would deal with horror, science fiction and fantasy without politics.
Notwithstanding, I would like to publish authors from all over the world, including, of course, Russian ones. I know that in the Western world now, more and more people are talking about the collective responsibility of Russians for what is happening. In this regard, I can only quote famous Australian genocide scholar Anthony Dirk Moses, “The collective guilt accusation is unacceptable in scholarship, let alone in normal discourse and is, I think, one of the key ingredients in genocidal thinking.”
If you believe in the ideals of freedom, human rights and democracy, you are welcome! I hope that the magazine will find marvelous authors and wonderful readers!
